Follow these 12 simple proven steps to ensure the mastery of your desires and success.

#1: Get yourself In State to Create.

When do you get your best ideas?

If you're like most people, you get really great ideas after sleeping, taking a walk, or doing your favorite hobby.

Why? You need to be relaxed to be creative and think of productive strategies. The fun truly gets more done.

On the other hand, stress basically causes functional brain injury. It shuts down the areas of your brain associated with decision-making, creativity, motivation, logic and more.

Therefore, do whatever it takes to get you in the sweet spot of relaxation and focus.

Meditate. Meditation slows your brain waves into a relaxed state and helps all areas fire together so that your mind is working more effectively.

Sing.

Dance.

Go for a walk.

Your well-being is also important. Make sure you're well rested. Drink enough water. Eat healthy meals especially while you're creating.

#2: Find the Juice that is Truly Worth the Squeeze.

In my article, Feel Like Something Is Missing from Your Life?, I show you how to get crystal clear on what your core values really are. Then I teach you why you need to create a successful vision and fulfilling life based on those core values.

If your vision isn't aligned with your core values, your unconscious mind is going to sabotage your efforts, so you'll fail to reach your goal yet again.

Worse yet, you may muscle through and achieve your vision only to hate your life once you get there because your core values have been compromised.

The secret to creating successful fulfilling visions is to make sure the juice is worth the squeeze. In other words, the results you want are worth the effort and sacrifices you will make along the way.

#3: Choose Your Purpose

Once you have your 5-to-thrive core values, the next step is to get really clear on your big purpose.



Sounds easy, doesn't it? And yet, most people have no idea what their purpose is.

The trouble is that they're looking for it in all the wrong places. They're hoping to find it somewhere out there.

In actuality, your purpose has been within you all along. It's your reason for being.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • What motivates you to get up in the morning?
  • When you get to the end of your life, what do you want to be remembered for?
  • Have you had some significant emotional event in your life which changed you overnight?
  • What drives you emotionally?
    1. - Your need for certainty and security
      - Your relationship with your family and loved ones
      - Your need for recognition
      - Your need for variety
      - Your need to be valued
      - Your need for growth and creativity
There is no right or wrong answer to these. Just get clear on what is driving you because that will be your fuel to complete your journey.

Throughout the visioning process, keep your purpose front and center.

Post it everywhere and make a habit of repeating it. E.g. in front of the bathroom mirror every time you go to the bathroom.

Once you've completed this step, it's time to create your vision... except that you're going to learn a whole new way to do it, which will set you up for greater success.

#4: Decide to create your vision.

What???

I'm serious. Deliberately create the vision of what you want to achieve or experience.

I know that may seem so dead simple as to seem insulting. And yet the vast majority of people never consciously set visions of what they want to accomplish.

That would be like jumping in your car with the intention of taking a trip and yet not setting a destination.

All you know is that you want to go somewhere other than your current address. That might sound really exciting. However, somewhere else might end up being two doors down the block or running out of gas in the middle of nowhere.

That's why it's so important to determine your end destination before you start.

Besides, the research shows that it takes you from 50% of people who fail to 80% who succeed, especially in business.

And. It's not just that you decide to create your vision. It's how you do it after that.

#5: Choose Mastery Over Achievement

If you're like most humans, you tend to live your life in the Lottery Syndrome.

You want the get-rich-quick schemes.
The beautiful body without a healthy lifestyle.
The handsome Prince Charming when you are not Princess Charming yourself.

It's called the Lottery Syndrome or Sudden Wealth Syndrome because most people who buy lottery tickets don't truly believe they will actually win.

And even if they do win, most lose the money in no time flat because they're not used to having that kind of money, let alone knowing what to do with it in a healthy manner.

It's not their identity to be wealthy.

International best-selling author Rod Hairston says that the strongest force in nature is to stay consistent with your unconscious identity.

Therefore, you need to change your identity to one of being wealthy... lovable... healthy... successful ... in order to have those.

Our programs teach you that mastering your vision is more important than achieving it.

Why?

To master something means you have internalized it. It is part of your identity.

To achieve something means you have followed a strategy and have attained the goal. Whether you are able to attain it all, keep it and feel fulfilled is a totally different matter.



To master your vision and be truly successful, you must become the person you need to be to do what you need to do to have your desired outcomes.

One way to do this is to practice affirmation meditations on your desired identity.

#6: Write Down Your Vision.

I can see you rolling your eyes again. Work with me on this one.

Have you ever gone to the grocery store to get a few items?

If you just had your list in your head, chances are you've come away from the store with items you didn't even want, and you've missed some key items you had really needed.

That is why you've learned to record your grocery list in a written list or on your smartphone. So that you get exactly what you want.

Just like you have a grocery list at least in your head before going to the store, you're always creating a vision, whether you know it or not. And Dominican University has shown that, if you write it down, you're almost twice as likely to succeed.

It gives solid direction to your goals, much like writing down your grocery list. In neuroscientific terms, it also recruits key areas of your brain governing your language center, your eyes and the muscles in your hands.

While they're very important, these steps are not new to visioning. To step it up, it's time to recruit even more of your thinking cap and brain to ramp up effectiveness.

How?

Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to change, based on learning and activity. A key point of this is that nerves that fire together wire together.

Therefore, the more of the brain you can recruit, the better. Create a powerful vision that makes your whole brain sit up and take notice.

#7: Activate the Executive Team in Your Left Prefrontal Cortex.

a) Create a compelling vision and watch your executive team kick into action.
b) Create a compelling purpose why you want this vision and ramp it up even further (See step #3).

Your left prefrontal cortex is responsible for all of your leadership activities: executive decisions, planning, initiating action, acting on both short and long-term goals, creativity, and self-control. It truly is your executive team.

When you create a compelling vision and purpose to leverage your vision, your left prefrontal cortex massively activates. It ramps up even further if you hit an obstacle to achieving your goal.

Challenges and obstacles? No problem!

You've got your dream team working on it. Next, it's time to get your unconscious mind onside by engaging your imagination.

#8: Engage your Imagination

As I mentioned in 8 Scientific Reasons Why You Need to Create a Vision Now, your unconscious mind is your self-appointed security team and safety control board. It wants everything to stay the same old and safe.

To determine if something is safe, your unconscious mind looks to see if your desired goal matches your identity, that collection of beliefs, habits, and memories which make up who you are.

If your desired goal or vision isn't a match, your well-intended security team will do everything it can to derail you.

Now, while you're keeping your purpose front and center is amazing leverage to move through this self-sabotage, an easy fun way is tricking your unconscious mind with its own tactics.

Pssst. Here's a little secret.

Your unconscious mind can't tell the difference between reality and fiction.

Therefore, you can visualize your desired outcome and your unconscious mind will file it away as if it were a memory.

Since your memories are part of your identity, you can change your identity to one of having what you want even before you do have it!

Here's how you do it:

  • Visualize various scenes of your ideal life and how you feel as you meditate. Picture each scene as clearly as if you've already experienced it.
  • Incorporate all of your senses: smells, music, laughter, the warmth of the sun, and more until you are reliving it over and over again.
  • Get your emotions on-side by feeling the joy, happiness, and gratitude of experiencing your ideal life.
  • Need some inspiration? Look to the internet for stories of other people who have what you want and put yourself in those stories.
Next, you need to get another aspect of your identity on-side, your beliefs.

#9: Check your Belief Score

If you haven't achieved your vision, it might just be a matter of time. And it is also helpful to question what you really believe about your vision.

For example, you may think you want lots of money. However, do you even like money or have you been taught it isn't spiritual?

Look for any incongruencies between what your vision says and what your identity and beliefs are. A good way to know is if you read your vision and it makes you feel anxious or nauseous.

That's your inner self saying you've got internal work to do before you're ready for your vision to manifest.

Remember the lottery syndrome? For true mastery of your vision, you must believe in your ability to attain it. It must be part of your identity already.

A great way to check how your belief score is to ask yourself some questions:
  • What do I currently believe about my ability to have my desired life?
  • What do I need to believe to move toward this vision?
  • What unconscious programming could be blocking my success?
  • What fears may be causing blindspots to potential strategies?
If your belief is not 100%, you're setting yourself up for lottery syndrome.

Now, don't beat yourself up if it's not. The good news is that beliefs are created and can be replaced.

You can choose to release old beliefs which no longer serve you while focusing on the new empowering beliefs which do.

For example, you can choose to believe that you are always going to be fine, no matter what curveballs life throws at you.

As you ramp up your belief, you will move from hope to faith to belief to expectation. Already done.

#10: Make it Real.

To max out your belief, you need to embody your vision. Make it as real to you as your current reality.

Have fun with it!

  • Listen to music which brings to mind your vision e.g. Spanish music if you want a trip to Spain or French music if you dream of going to Paris.
  • Cook the food and start learning the language.
  • Go test drive your desired car.
  • Surround yourself with something that reminds you of your desired life.
    1. 1) Post pictures of your ideal life--put them in multiple prominent places
      2) Want money? Carry a hundred dollar bill with you so that you can feel abundant.
      3) Want to win a gold medal? Surround yourself with gold. Gold sheets. Gold clothes. Gold toothbrush. Natalie Cook and her beach volleyball team did just this to go from bronze on the podium to gold.
  • When you add gratitude to your positive focus on your vision, it adds power by further tricking your unconscious mind into believing your vision has already happened. And it feels good!

Only after laying all of this groundwork is it finally time to take inspired action.

This can be the scariest step of all because you need to take the leap into uncertainty. However, if you take action in a SMART way, you will set yourself up for success and fun along your journey.

#11: Create SMART Goals to Support Your Vision.

How do you eat an elephant?

One bite at a time.

This is where SMART goals come in.

They must be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant (tied into your purpose), and time-bound.

This will chunk your big vision down into manageable realistic sections so that you set yourself up for success. Read my article 5 Ingredients Missing from Most New Year's Resolution Recipes for more information.

The next step is to rev up the intensity of your vision.

#12: Own it.

Like most people, you have been programmed to allow problems to take over your whole life.

If one thing is in crisis, you devote your whole energy and focus to it, and you're taught that is responsible and intelligent. For example, if a loved one is sick, you likely sacrifice your own wellbeing.

You don't sleep well, because you're worrying too much. You don't exercise, eat well or spend time on your own self-care.

That's the way to show you care, right?

Wrong.

The best way to help others is to help yourself and stay focused on your vision, purpose, and wellbeing.

Therefore, to counteract all of the negative visioning you've been doing your whole life, you need to live your new vision. And cut off any communication or energy, no matter how well-meaning, which sabotages your vision.

You need to make it a lifestyle rather than just putting it in a category on the side. This is your life.
